Medical Sauna Add On RequestUse this form to request a medical sauna session as an add on to your next massage! Alternatively, text the information to 607-591-2302.
Please drink plenty of water before and after your sauna session. Also, be sure at least 30 minutes has passed since you have done any strenuous activity or exercise.
Anytime you feel dizzy, excessively sleepy, nauseous or any other kind of discomfort, please exit the sauna immediately.
When your session is complete, turn the power off and sit with the door ajar for a minute or two to allow an adjustment time for your body.
If you have never used a sauna before, please start with just 10 minutes and increase your time gradually with each visit.
Please consult with your physician before using a sauna to ensure you have no medical contraindications. Do not use the sauna if you are pregnant or trying to conceive (this includes males as a sauna can lower sperm count), have unmanaged blood pressure risks, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, morbid obesity, a severe infectious disease, dehydration risks, take medications that impair sweating as a side effect or if you have consumed alcohol in the past 24 hours.
Using the Sauna
Increase the benefits of your massage by adding a sauna session before or after!
Sip on water during your sauna session for comfort and to replenish body fluids.
If it gets too hot, open the sauna door slightly.
Please use a folded towel on the bench to sit on. You can also wrap a spa robe around your body to absorb perspiration. Don’t forget to take your jewelry off. Jewelry can burn you when it gets hot!
There is a radio in the sauna for those of you that like NPR or Wink106, or a USB can be used for your own tunes. Also, if you do not want to put your device at risk, we recommend using heat resistant ear buds or air pods and leaving your device outside of the sauna. Best yet, silence is golden. How often do you get to just close your eyes and be in silence for a few moments?
There are up and down arrows on the display at the back of the sauna to help you adjust the heat. The average temperature for bath water is about 110 degrees. We recommend starting at that temperature and seeing how your body reacts and then increasing, gradually with each session.
The lightbulb button will turn on the overhead “chromotherapy.” This alternating color therapy can help with mood stabilization, depression, anxiety and more!
This is not a steam or wet sauna. Please do not pour water on the infrared emitters or in any other part of the sauna!
When in doubt, ask questions BEFORE your session! Thank you and ENJOY!
